What happens when you have more than one thing you are passionate about?

When it comes to finding my passion, I can firmly say that I have a two-page list of things that I consider a passion. Well, maybe not two pages but the list is pretty lengthy. So when it comes down to choose a career it took me some time to figure that one out. Our generation is so focused on finding that ONE thing that we love to do, but my question is, what happens when you have more than one thing you love?  How do you differentiate what is a passion and what can be set aside as a hobby?
For me, Its incredibly difficult to choose one thing that I would want to spend the rest of my life doing. There are so many things that I want to do and like to do. As human beings, we change our minds about things often so it was very frustrating for me to decide on a career path. I constantly worry if what I’ve chosen as a career is right for me. Not because I don’t like what I do but because I’m unsure that what I’ve chosen is the right thing.
Pushing someone to choose one thing to be passionate about is limiting. The last thing I want to do is put a limit on what I should pursue.
I am sure that there are many of you out there struggling with this and believe me I understand the pressure you’re in. I want you to know that you don’t need to worry. First and foremost, PRAY about it. Let God guide you. I did, and God led me to where I am today. I am the accounting Manager for a Logistics/ Food distribution Company. Believe me, accounting was not on my list of professions but I took a leap of faith and threw myself into it. I won’t lie, I questioned Gods path for me several times. I thought maybe I should go back to teaching, but again I heard Gods small voice telling me that I needed to stay the course and expand in the field I am already in. With that said, I also felt it extremely important to pursue all the other things that bring happiness to my life. It is not just about finding a career it is about finding a balance between work and what you love.
I wouldn’t have known that I enjoyed working in accounting until I decided to give it a shot. Which brings me to my second point, there is nothing wrong with not knowing what you want to do or having too many things you want to do. What is most important is that you find the time to actually practice those things. Go out there and put action behind your passion. You will quickly find what you’re meant for. You might find that there is more than one thing you are meant for or you might find that you love what you least expected to love. Don’t worry if you haven’t made a career out of what you love. It’s okay that you don’t know what path to take. When all else fails, God will lead you, He will always provide.
